Our beginning
Saraswati Puja and associated stage programmes have been held locally for many years, before the Sankalpa name. Banerjee and extended-family organisers, neighbours and friends have contributed collectively. The exact first year remains to be confirmed.
Sankalpa is the locally used name; its use is estimated at roughly six to seven years, rather than a verified incorporation date. We are currently unregistered and do not claim that the new institution owns a clubhouse or land.

Family heritage and the responsibility to document it
Family oral history is important to our origin, but detailed claims about migration, historical grants, settlement age or early local status have not yet been independently corroborated. The private heritage desk will record sources, scope, disagreements and publication consent before using such claims publicly. Heritage does not create hereditary membership, governance or property rights.
Current stage: unregistered community initiative. Legal registration, entity banking, tax recognition, gateways and future institutions require separate verified readiness.
